Join a band, write your own music, and play in a concert! Girls Rock Lab provides workshops, mentors, and a space where underrepresented genders in the music industry are empowered leaders and collaborators. We welcome girls, non-binary, and transgender kids of any identity or background to participate.

Please be advised, you will be called prior to the start of the camp. If you do not confirm your child's participation by the deadline provided, your spot will be given to another child and your child will be placed on the waitlist.

FAQs

Do I have to register to come?

Yes, you MUST register to come, as our school break camps have a limited number of spots.

How do I register my child?

Register via our Eventbrite page (if you're reading this, then you're in the right spot) or by calling (509) 919-4678 between 12 and 7 p.m., Tuesdays through Saturdays. Registering by phone may take some time, so please make sure you have at least a half-hour to spare!

What do I need to bring to this school break camp?

We provide all materials, tools, and supplies your child will need, unless otherwise specified for the camp.

Can my child bring their own snacks?

Yes. While Spark Central will provide one snack an hour at our programs, you are welcome to send your child with their own snacks, which they can enjoy at any point. Children are not allowed to share their snacks during our programs.

Can I register my child if they are not in the age group specified for this school break camp?

No. Please only register your child if they are in the age range or grades listed in the program description. We cannot make exceptions, even for children who are academically advanced or mature for their age.

Can I register my child if I am not certain they can attend?

No — please only register if you know your child will be there. We often have a full waitlist for our school break camps, and every vacant seat is a missed learning opportunity for another family. If you already know you have a scheduling conflict, please do not register!

If your child becomes ill unexpectedly after registering or if a conflict comes up that you did not anticipate, please contact programs@spark-central.org.

As a parent, can I stay at this school break camp with my child?

No. Please help your child get settled and then leave them with our well-trained staff and volunteers. Your registration provides us with your contact information and we will contact you if there is a problem of any kind. Please feel welcome to send additional emergency contacts for your child to programs@spark-central.org.

If you want to participate in the school break camp with your child, we suggest you sign up as a volunteer. After emailing your interest to volunteers@spark-central.org, you will be invited to a volunteer orientation. This process can take a few weeks, so please plan accordingly.

If you would rather attend a program with your child, please choose from one of the many drop-in programs and family events we offer at Spark Central.

Can I sign up my child for a school break camp if they don't want to come?

No. Spark Central camps have two rules: (1) Everyone wants to be here; (2) Everyone is compassionate toward others. School break camps are not a spot to drop off a child who does not want to participate. If a child wants to leave, is defiant, or harms others, you will be called to pick up your child.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Behind Spark Central, parking does have a cost and is operated by a private company. Free 90-minute street parking is also available on West Summit Parkway. City bus lines stop at the intersection of Summit and Monroe, which is just a few blocks from our space.

Where can I contact the organizer with any questions or if I have to cancel?

Contact programs@spark-central.org with questions or cancellations. Please let us know as soon as possible if you can't make it, as school break camps often have waiting lists and we want to give every child who wants to be here a chance to participate if possible.
