Girl Scout STEM Day at Binghamton University

Girl Scout STEM Day at Binghamton University

By Binghamton University

Overview

Join us for a fun and educational Saturday morning at Binghamton University to visit our labs and complete one of your Girl Scout badges!

This year's event will be held on the main campus at Binghamton University, rather than at the Innovative Technologies Complex (ITC) as in years past. Information about exact location, parking, etc., will be provided closer to the event.

We will begin with a keynote presentation from one of our faculty members who studies the effects of rapid environmental change on biodiversity, with a special emphasis on birds and insects. After the presentation, the girls will tour labs in our Science Buildings, followed by some time to work on a badge. Please follow directions in the email you receive after completing your EventBrite registration to choose the badge you wish to work on.

Badges that will be offered this year include:

  • Daisy - Tinker with Crafts
  • Daisy - Mechanical Engineering: Model Car
  • Brownie - Digital Leadership
  • Brownie - Leap Bot
  • Brownie - Bugs
  • Junior - Coding for Good 1: Coding Basics
  • Junior - Mechanical Engineering: Balloon Car
  • Cadette - STEM Career Exploration
  • Cadette - Animal Helper

The girls will be given a snack prior to beginning work on their badge.
