Overview

Join Mary's Macs N More for a fun evening decorating these adorable sugar cookies.

INTRODUCTION

This class is for 1 adult + 1 child, ages 5 & up to decorate a set of 3 cookies with icing. We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU!

We’ll be decorating a "gingy" Christmas theme this time – from gingerbread houses to candy canes you won't want to miss it!

Each to-be-baker gets 3 cookies, icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate!

This class is Thursday December 18th from 5:30-6:30pm sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer along the way. We have 20 seats total for the class. Each person must have a ticket. Have more than one child to bring? Please purchase an extra seat in the add on link.

The class will be held at The Grand Center for the Arts in New Ulm, MN located at 210 N Minnesota St. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy - there is parking in the back alley or on on Minnesota St.

Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience!

  • Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it).
  • Bring your glasses! There’s a reference slide deck to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet.
  • Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone!
  • Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference.

Who doesn’t love going out and doing something fun while also eating delicious cookies!? That’s what Mary's Macs N More is all about!

These classes are based in New Ulm and cater to the beginner cookier or people just looking to have fun learning a new skill. Whether you just want a fun date, a girls-or-guys-night-out or just want to explore what cookie decorating is on your own - we have a seat for you.

For our classes, all you will need to bring is yourself (and an apron if you are a messy decorator), and I’ll take care of the rest. Oh – and bring eyeglasses so you can see the instructional PowerPoint if your eyesight is anything like mine. You will get a set of pre-baked cookies (pretty tasty if I do say so myself) as well as all the supplies you will need to decorate them during the 1.5 hour class. You will leave the class with your very own box of your very own newly decorated cookies!

A little about me – I’ve been baking sugar cookies for many years – and I’ve not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). My favorite cookie themes to decorate are Christmas and Valentine's– but I can do pretty much anything if icing’s involved. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world!

Oh yeah - I have classes throughout the year which highlight different themes so make sure to sign up for our newsletter so you can get in on the cookie action!

DIY- Add on kits

Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and I’ll email you the class PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class.

How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best.

Allergens: Heads up – these cookies and icing include the following ingredients: Butter, flour, granulated sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, almond extract, baking powder, meringue power, powdered sugar, corn syrup.

Please note – these cookies are prepared in a kitchen that also bakes with common, known allergens: Tree nuts

Please consider your allergies before registering.

Class Cancelation Policy: Classes may be canceled at the discretion of me, the event host. This rarely happens – but in that extremely rare event that it does, you’ll receive a 100% refund including your Eventbrite fees.

Classes with attendance below 10 will be canceled. Don’t be sad! You can either get a class credit for a future class (along with my apologies), or a full refund! I’ll let you know if your class has low attendance three days before the event is canceled so that you can bring a friend (hint hint) or find other plans for that day.

Weather Policy: Sometimes Jack Frost doesn’t play well with cookie class schedules, and Mother Nature seems to be takin’ notes. In the event of inclement weather, I’ll contact you with options – these may differ depending on the weather event but rest assured – we’ll figure something out!

Eventbrite Fees: Your ticket price includes your ticket fees; however, Eventbrite does not refund its fees. If you cancel your ticket and request a refund prior to the cancelation window expiring, I’ll happily give you a refund less the Eventbrite fee – since I don’t get this fee back either. Eventbrite keeps it regardless of whether you show up or cancel. I know – I hate it too!

Questions? I have answers (or I’ll make up some fun stories at least)! Reach out to me or check out some of my work on the following social media profiles (and hey – give me a like or follow – I’d love your support!). If you need to reach out directly, below is my email as well.
