About this event

Join a ghost researcher, a witch, a horror expert, and a therapist for a fun and interactive evening at Whiner Beer. Our panel of experts will tell you about their careers working with the supernatural, the strange, and the very human, and then we’ll open up an opportunity for audience members to get expert advice on handling your creepiest problems! Plus, find out what the cards have in store for you with personalized oracle readings!

This is a micro-fundraiser to support Free Street’s Storefront in Back of the Yards, which offers bilingual programming, free space to Southside artists and organizers, and health and wellness workshops for our neighbors. $25 well spent! (Whiner is family and dog friendly - bring your emotional support friends.)

Kim Crutcher: Rev. Kim Crutcher (MAPC, LCPC), is a holistic psychotherapist, Interfaith Minister, and community herbalist. She learned many of her most valuable skills in the theatre such as ritual leadership, empathy, potion making, joke telling, the use of witchcraft to bring about political justice, and crisis management/ intervention. Currently, Kim is the Herbalism Conductor with Urban Growers Collective. She identifies as a Mean Old School Teacher and is happy to have multiple classrooms where she can support collective wellness through acts of education.

Shayna Connelly: Shayna Connelly is a filmmaker whose work explores hauntings, liminality and the boundaries between documentary, experimental and fiction filmmaking. She wants to hear stories of your ghost encounters!

Ilana Faust: Ilana is a former theatre maker who currently works as a psychotherapist for individuals and couples. Ilana is also a movement instructor, focusing on teaching people about restorative movement. Not only is Ilana the proud grandchild of a self-proclaimed medium, but she is also credentialed in Illinois to help people exorcize all witchiness and bitchiness.

Coya Paz: Coya Paz is the Strategic Director at Free Street Theater and a Professor of Theatre Studies in The Theatre School at DePaul University.
