Ghosts of Chicago: Bus Tour with Adam Selzer of Mysterious Chicago
SUNDAY'S TOUR IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE - IF YOU PURCHASE IT THE TICKET WILL BE REFUNDED.
Ghost stories are part of a city’s mythology. But you know what Indiana Jones says - “We cannot afford to mythology at face value.” Author Adam Selzer started running ghost tours years ago, and immersed himself in uncovering the real history behind the tales he was telling - separating fact from fiction, finding missing data, and learning how the ghost stories evolved. But the Atlas Obscura-friendly ghost tour, brought to you by Adam Selzer (Mysterious Chicago), is full of spooky stories that even Adam can't explain! From the ghosts of Hull House (said to be haunted since at least 1888), the old City Cemetery (first reported as haunted in 1897), and the legend of Resurrection Mary and the ghostlore of what the Tribune once called "The Alley of Death and Mutilation" (stay classy, Chicago Tribune), this is the best ghost tour deal of the season! The tour runs approximately 2 hours, with several off-bus stops.
Adam is the author of Ghosts of Chicago (Llewelyn 2013), Mysterious Chicago: History at Its Coolest (Skyhorse 2016), and a new novel entitled Just Kill Me (Simon and Schuster), which is all about a ghost tour guide who makes places more haunted by killing people at them (it's only partly autobiographical). Adam’s ghost tours are relentlessly entertaining, ridiculously informative, and down-to-earth enough that even the most hardened skeptics won’t roll their eyes!
The event will run rain or shine.
No alcoholic beverages are allowed. If you appear to be drunk (or just obnoxiously stupid), you may be asked to leave. If you are buying for a group, please inform them that this is a tour, not a party bus or pub crawl.
Are there age limit for the tour? No, but this is a ghost tour, which means we'll be talking about death, disease, destruction, drowning, dismay, dismemberment, disfiguartion, decapitation, defenestration, decomposition, decay, and Donald Trump. It may be too gruesome for small children
How long is it? Approx 2hours
Where do we meet? Meet outside of the "Rock and Roll McDonalds", 600 N Clark
Is this ADA accessible? Limited access.
Is my ticket refundable? No, sorry kids no money back on this purchase but you can transfer it by following this handy Eventbrite tutorial.
