Getting Your Camera Off Auto Mode - DAPC Photography Bootcamp Class 2

By Doña Ana Photography Club

Overview

Learn to ditch auto mode and master your camera’s manual settings in this hands-on DAPC bootcamp!

This workshop demystifies and provides an explanation of the camera’s aperture priority and shutter priority settings. The instructor will break down the exposure triangle (shutter speed, aperture & ISO) using real world examples to show how they are interrelated. At the completion participants will be able to make informed decisions using the exposure triangle to get the photograph they want. The class also includes a brief discussion on the visual distortion of wide angle vs. telephoto lenses.

Following that there will be small group hands-on time to help participants learn how to change these settings on their own camera. Participants will then have time to practice what they learned along with members from the DAPC who will be available for assistance. Participants will return to the workshop environment for small group discussion and to answer questions they may have.

This class will be taught by Dave Brown, Doña Ana Photography Club Member-At-Large. Dave has been involved in photography for more than 40 years and has provided instruction to adult learners for over 20 years. He has had images on display at local venues and has been published in New Mexico Magazine®. He enjoys helping people understand the workings of photography so they may take that knowledge and improve their photos.

Space is limited; if you have any questions contact Rob Peinert at education@daphotoclub.org.
