One year after the 2016 election, many are still asking questions about Donald Trump’s rise to the presidency and where the nation will go from here. Two of Washington’s premier political scholar-journalists, E.J. Dionne Jr. and Norman J. Ornstein, will join Boston College History Professor Heather Cox Richardson to discuss the election of Donald Trump and the citizen activism it has inspired, as detailed in their new book, One Nation After Trump: A Guide for the Perplexed, the Disillusioned, the Desperate, and the Not-Yet Deported.

How did our political system give rise to President Trump? What dangers might his administration pose to different institutions? How can millions of Americans harness a renewed sense of civic responsibility? Join us for a conversation on the current political climate, what the Trump presidency means for political norms, and the importance of seizing on the renewed sense of engagement in the American people.

A book signing will follow. Two ticket options are available, including general admission tickets (free), and premium tickets ($35; $30 for members). Premium tickets include the book and guaranteed seating. Free parking is available at the Institute.

Registration & Seating

Registration opens no earlier than 5:00 PM. Registration and doors close 15 minutes after the start of the program. Premium tickets guarantee a seat at the event and include the book. General admission seating is first-come, first-served, and some seats have obstructed views. If needed, an overflow room will provide guests with a live stream of the program.

Ticket sales are final and non-refundable. If a premium ticket holder is unable to attend, a book may be picked up at the Institute up to one week after the program, or tickets can be transferred by contacting programs@emkinstitute.org.
