You’re not broken — you’re wired differently.

Grounded in the work of ADHD expert Dr. Lidia Zylowska, this 8-week group— led by Alyssa Lightfoot, Counselling Intern, and Hannah Boehmer, Registered Provisional Psychologist, blends practical skills, emotional insight, and supportive community.

You’ll build new tools while having space to reflect, relate, and connect with others who truly understand what it’s like to live with an ADHD brain.

In this group, you’ll explore:

  • How ADHD actually works — and what that means for your attention, emotions, and energy.
  • Tools to get out of autopilot using sensory grounding and mindful attention.
  • Navigating emotional triggers with less reactivity and more choice.
  • Letting go of shame and learning how to support yourself with compassion.

Whether you're been diagnosed or just starting to wonder if ADHD could be part of your story, this group offers a chance to slow down, understand how your brain works, and discover practical strategies for living life in a way that fits you.

Frequently asked questions

Who is this group for?

This group is designed for adults (18+) who want to better understand how ADHD affects their life, build coping strategies, and feel less alone. It's open to all genders and inclusive of those newly diagnosed, self-identifying, or still exploring the possibility of ADHD.

Who is this group for?

No formal diagnosis is required. This group is open to anyone who relates to ADHD traits or is curious about how ADHD may be showing up in their life. Whether you’ve been officially diagnosed, are self-identifying, or are still exploring, you’re welcome here.

What if I’m nervous to speak in a group?

That’s totally okay. While we encourage participation, you'll never be pressured to share more than you’re comfortable with. We aim to create a safe, welcoming environment where people can participate in the way that feels right for them.

Is this a therapy group?

This is a psychoeducational and support group, not group therapy. That means the focus is on learning practical tools, building insight, and connecting with others in a supportive space — not processing personal trauma or deep therapy work.

How many people will be in the group?

We keep the group small (usually 6–10 participants) to allow for comfort, discussion, and personalized attention.

What if I miss a session?

We understand that life gets busy. To support your commitment and help maintain group cohesion, we ask participants to attend at least 6 out of the 8 sessions. Attendance is tracked, and your $100 deposit will be fully refunded if you meet this requirement.

When does this group run?

This group runs for 8 weeks starting on May 29th from 6:00 pm - `7:30 pm recurring every Thursday evening until July 17th. Your session fee covers all 8 weeks of the group.
