THIS SESSION IS FOR COLLEGE OF CHARLESTON EMPLOYEES ONLY

This session is for faculty who have never used OAKS before or who have not used it recently and are in need of a refresher. We will provide an introductory overview of the following tools: Content, News/Announcements, and Class List.

The OAKS News/Announcements tool allows faculty to post updates, reminders, and important notices to students. Once announcements are posted, they will appear on your course homepage for student viewing. Students can also elect to receive email and/or text message notifications of the items posted.

The OAKS Content tool allows you to build and organize your course content. This is the area where your students will access course materials including your syllabus, readings, videos, and slide decks.

Finally, the OAKS Class List tool allows faculty to see who is enrolled in the course and communicate with them via email or live chat.

By the end of this session, you will be able to create news items for your course as well as add and organize course content including documents, links, audio, and video files.
