The first blockchain technology is the cryptocurrency called Bitcoin. It proposes a very different way of issuing money into an economy, by sending information between users, without having to go through intermediaries. This allows for a level of transparency and security never before seen in the history of finance.
Join this 3-hour hands-on workshop, where you will:
- Learn the basics of blockchain technologies and their wide variety of applications in the real world.
- Create your Blockchain Wallet, so you can start receiving, storing, and sending cryptocurrencies worldwide.
- Learn how to buy your first bitcoin, ether or any other tokens, safely.
The world is taking notice. The value of the blockchain ecosystem is in the hundreds of billions of dollars. Financial institutions are moving quickly to adopt this new technology into their systems.
During this online practical workshop, you will also:
- Upgrade your computer skills to a high level of security.

Participation Requirements:
- Please make sure you have the necessary gadgets, i.e., a phone and a computer, as you’ll be setting up a cryptocurrency wallet on your computer.
- Ideal for experienced computer users, who are open to learn new routines.
- Make sure that your internet connection is strong enough to let you participate in the webinar without any disturbances.
- We recommend downloading the Zoom app in advance and getting familiar with how the app works.
About the Trainer:
Stephen DeMeulenaere, Director at Qoin Foundation
With over 25 years of experience with the digitalization of businesses, Stephen spent the last 8 years designing and implementing cryptographically secured Smart City Currencies, as Director at Qoin Foundation. He’s been involved in a long list of blockchain-related projects.
Among others, Stephen was an advisor to Ripple in their early beginnings, as well as Certified Digital Currency Professional with the Digital Currency Council. He’s a paid reviewer of "Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies" for the Princeton University Press, and organizer of the first and largest blockchain technology event at the United Nations, in Geneva.
This workshop is one of the BlockShare series of hands-on courses offered by Blockchain Zoo. Their aim is to help blockchain enthusiasts and developers understand this technology better, while expanding their skills and knowledge.
