Event description

Description

Join ITDP together with several municipalities from greater Boston to learn about the pilots in 2018 that showcased BRT elements such as level boarding platforms, transit-signal priority with queue jumps, stop rationalization and dedicated bus lane segments. The municipalities of Arlington, Boston, Cambridge, Everett and Watertown will share results and lessons learned from their local bus pilots and reveal how they are continuing to build locally on this momentum. We’ll discuss how small scale “quick build” projects are only an intermediate step to meet the region’s ambitious mode shift, equity and climate goals.

This workshop is an opportunity for transport practitioners and advocates to draw on the lessons from the 2018 pilots to advance bold street reclamations on arterial roads toward BRT. Participants will have a better understanding of next steps and funding opportunities while connecting with peers across the region who are engaged in this work.

We will wrap up our afternoon together with complimentary beverages and snacks (wine & cheese!) and a toast to #YearoftheBus!
