Get Proximate: Around the Table at Maple Street Shelter with LifeMoves

Join us for an afternoon of connection at LifeMoves | Maple Street in Redwood City jointly hosted by SV2 and LifeMoves on Monday, January 21, 2019 – Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service.

Tour, Info Session, Dinner together. We will start with a brief tour of Maple Street, then hear a personal story from a former Maple Street client , and learn more about LifeMoves from their team. We will then share a meal and conversation with clients currently residing at of LifeMoves | Maple Street which provides emergency and transitional housing for a wide range of single adult men and women along with an extensive offering of other services.

We encourage you to bring new twin sheets and blankets to Maple Street when you come. If you are unable to attend but want to donate these items, kindly bring them to SV2 and we will ensure that they are delivered to Maple Street or you can drop them off yourself at Maple Street.

Please plan to arrive at 3:30 pm for the brief tour. This gathering is open to SV2 Partners as well as their children in middle and/or high school. (Note: Teens must be accompanied by an SV2 Partner parent. We are not able to accommodate younger children at this event.)

Pre-and post-experience reflection. Once you RSVP, we will send you some pre-experience info. And following our time at LifeMoves | Maple Street, we invite those who joined us on 1/21 to a post-event follow up call to share and explore your experience. The post-experience call will take place on Sunday, 1/27/19 from 4:30 - 5:30 pm. Shortly after the 1/21 Get Proximate event, we will send you a calendar invitation to the follow up Zoom call.

In addition, we will add you to the new my.SV2 Get Proximate Community so that you can stay informed about upcoming Get Proximate events, readings, resources and other opportunities. 4:15 – 5:00 pm – Info Session with Personal Story from a Maple Street Resident

5:00 – 6:00 pm – Dinner with Maple Street residents (Everyone is welcome to linger longer as desired.)
