About this event

Join Resolution Project for our annual Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine Young Leaders Now Award Dinner at The Current at Chelsea Piers on November 12 in New York City. This dinner is an opportunity to support our work, gather with leaders in the public, private, and social sectors, and connect with Resolution Fellows and Enactus students around the world, while celebrating Enactus’ 50th anniversary.

The evening will consist of a cocktail hour followed by an elegant seated dinner and remarks from our Fellows, Honorees, and Enactus students at our new venue. Guests will enjoy panoramic views of the Hudson River and receive a curated gift bag at the end of the night.

Every year at the YLN Award Dinner, we honor outstanding changemakers who understand the value and importance of letting young people lead. Past awardees include Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, Founder of World Model UN; Shiza Shahid, Co-Founder & Former CEO of the Malala Fund; Reeta Roy, President and CEO of Mastercard Foundation; and Zainab Salbi, Founder of Women for Women International.

About Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine:

The event’s namesake, Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine, is a global leader in philanthropy and business, whose impact crosses sectors, geographies, and subjects seamlessly. She is the Founder and President of the Sunshine Care Foundation, an organization based in Asia and primarily dedicated to promoting youth education, humanitarian relief, and scientific research in neurodegenerative diseases. We are deeply honored to have Geraldine as one of the original members of Resolution’s Board of Directors and to have recognized her as the 2016 Young Leaders Now Award recipient.

About this year’s Honorees:

To receive the Geraldine Acuña-Sunshine Young Leaders Now Award: Wemimo Abbey, Co-Founder & Co-CEO of Esusu Inc. This award celebrates an individual who started their own social venture during college and serves as an inspiration and role model for Resolution Fellows worldwide, and/or contributes leadership and financial support to young leaders seeking solutions to pressing social issues.

We will also celebrate the Champions Circle Award for Supporting Young Leaders and the Founders Award for Extraordinary Service. The Champions Circle Award for Supporting Young Leaders honors a top leader and changemaker who has assisted young leaders and emerging innovators, either in a personal capacity or through their organizations, thereby generating enduring, positive social impact. The Founders Award for Extraordinary Service honors one or two community members for their contributions to youth leadership and positive social impact.

About Resolution Project

Resolution Project works with young people to build a lifetime of impact, starting today. At the core of our work is the Resolution Fellowship, which provides seed funding and lifelong support to promising young leaders on the path of social entrepreneurship. We identify these leaders early on through our integration with Enactus, a non-profit organization with a 50-year history of educating young people to use innovation and entrepreneurship to solve the world's most pressing problems.

Resolution Project and Enactus form one of the largest nonprofit collaborations at the nexus of youth leadership and social entrepreneurship. Together, we engage 40,000 students annually across 100 countries and 22 U.S. states. Our combined efforts have benefited 20 million people with a combined market cap of $6.5B and and a community of 500k followers across social platforms.
