About this event

The Dikran Izmirlian Program in Business and Global Affairs is hosting its third annual signature conference!

The theme for this year's conference is Changing Global Value Chains. We are keen to help advance and socialize our understanding of this aspect of international business from the perspectives of all relevant stakeholders. Within this theme, we aim to explore topics around managing the impact of the evolving regulatory, geopolitical, and international trade landscapes.

At the conference, you will hear from government affairs leaders, public sector officials, and Georgetown faculty, and you will engage with Izmirlian students as they present their findings on public policy-related issues or initiatives pursued in collaboration with our sponsor organizations.

The conference is supported by several companies currently serving as advisors to the program: AES, BMW, Gap, Inc., The Home Depot, Mastercard, Schneider Electric, and Walmart.

In addition to student-led project discussions, the event will be highlighted by plenaries with key voices in the industry, including:

  • Ravi Aurora, Senior Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Affairs, Mastercard
  • Dan Bryant, Executive Vice President, Global Public Policy and Government Affairs, Walmart
  • Paul Freedman (L’96), Executive Vice President, General Counsel, and CorporateSecretary, AES
  • Heather Kennedy (EMBA’22), Vice President, Government Relations and External Communications, The Home Depot
  • Stephanie Lester, Vice President, Head of Government Affairs, Gap, Inc.
  • Markus Szczesny, Vice President, Innovation Management, BMW Group

More details on the conference agenda will be forthcoming soon -- be on the lookout to confirm which panel sessions and workshops you would like to attend.

We look forward to your participation in this transformative event!
