Georgetown Guided Walking Tour

Overview

Come explore Washington’s oldest neighborhood in all its Holiday splendor!

From the Scary to the Holiday Splendid:

Visit the site of the mystery mansion with doors to nowhere and a previous owner who suggested being buried inside with a stake in his heart…the “ten o’clock ritual” at the old Foxhall mansion…perhaps we may even here the shuffling of feet, an occasional sob, or the horrific crack of a whip outside a row of shops on Wisconsin Avenue…

Visit the famous “Exorcist” steps, where we will learn what really happened, and what really happens during this ordeal, and why the “Office of the Rite of Exorcism” is so carefully guarded by the Catholic Church.

This walk will take us past the houses of some of the city’s most notable residents- the Kennedys, Heinzes, Kevin Plank- just to name a few, and take in what many consider the most tastefully decorated part of town.

We will wrap up on the campus of Georgetown University to see the Nativity Scene behind Healy Hall and include a tie in to the movie “National Treasure”. Participants are then encouraged to experience one of the best local light shows, “Georgetown Glow”.
