Presented by Dr. Adrianne L. Johnson, LPCC-S; Dr. Kelsey Ward, PhD, LPCC-S

Gender dysphoria is a psychological condition in which an individual experiences distress due to a mismatch between their gender identity and assigned sex at birth. Treatment approaches, including psychotherapy, social transition, and medical interventions, aim to alleviate distress and support well-being. This presentation will explore the nature of gender dysphoria, evidence-based treatment options, and the importance of affirming care in promoting mental health and quality of life.

This presentation will assist licensees and licensure-seekers with developing and advancing their effectiveness in diagnosing and treating Gender Dysphoria ethically, competently, and within a research-informed approach.

1. Attendees will increase knowledge regarding current practices in diagnosing and treating Gender Dysphoria.

2. Attendees will develop a comprehensive understanding of the symptomology and symptom management of Gender Dysphoria.

3. Attendees will learn strategies to provide best practice and ethical care of clients with Gender Dysphoria

CEUs

Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction and Mental Health Services has been approved by:

the Ohio Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board to offer continuing education credit hours (Provider #RCS111304 and RTX012515) and has approved this training for 2 hours (continuing) CEUs;

The Ohio Board of Nursing will accept a continuing education activity that has been approved by a board or an agency that regulates a health care profession or related discipline in Ohio including the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Information regarding continuing education requirements is available on the OBN website here.

Other licensing boards may also accept these hours, however it is the attendee’s responsibility to establish this prior to attending.

In order to ethically provide CEUs, we use a platform that generates attendance time reports. We must have a total time in attendance for each participant in order to issue CEUs and the CEUs issued are based on the total amount of time accumulated between the time an attendee joins and the time the attendee logs off. We are ethically bound to report the accumulated amount of time a participant attended, therefore we cannot issue CEUs to those:

· sharing a monitor, computer, and/or login

· failing to ensure their name label includes their first and last name

· joining by phone

· missing more than 10 minutes of a training that is 60 minutes in length

CEUs will be adjusted to the nearest quarter hour to reflect the amount of time present for sessions over 60 minutes in length.

By registering and attending this session, you acknowledge and agree that your photo may be taken and used by Montgomery County ADAMHS. If you do not agree to have your photo used, you must contact the organizer prior to the class.

If you require reasonable accommodation to participate in a training session, please contact the organizer.
