Gelli Plate Printing and Handmade Cards
Overview
Join me for a fun afternoon of art making as we explore using the Gelli Plate to create handmade greeting cards. We will create luscious printed papers for the first two hours and then spend the last hour turning them into fun collaged cards. This is a laid back workshop that is really more of a mixed media play date.
Cost: $60
$30 deposit at registration holds your seat.
We will be playing with: Acrylic paints, bold colors and metallics, foam stamps, stencils ( large assortment of patterns). Fancy papers, sheet music, maps, and text pages from old books ( large stash to play with).
ALL MATERIALS PROVIDED.
Students will go home with: A stash of cool printed collage papers, handmade bookmarks and greeting cards
Students will explore:.
▪ Mono printing using the Gelli Plate method
▪ Experimentation with stencils
▪ Creation of masks to use on the plates
▪ Rescuing an ‘ugly print’ and learning to salvage and reuse selected portions of their prints.
Studio Policies: This is being held in my home studio and it is a smoke free environment. No kitties here, but 3 small terriers do share our home ( they will not be taking the class with us). Elevator availble if needed for this second floor studio.
