Gear Up for Green: Getting Your Back Office In Order

We Source NYC and the Growing Green Business Network present our inaugural Gear Up For Green Lunch and Learn series will help small businesses learn what they need to do to build their own administrative capacity to obtain and successfully execute public and private contracts and will expose them to new opportunities in the green energy sector. Whether you’re looking to build capacity, qualify for contracts, or connect with industry leaders, this series will help you turn opportunity into growth.

The monthly online workshops will be followed by an in-person social mixer in early March 2026.

This session will provide a general overview of the topic and include information on:

• Building the administrative and financial systems needed to qualify for public and private contracts
• Understanding key documentation: MWBE certification, insurance, payroll, and compliance reporting
• Setting up accounting, invoicing, and recordkeeping systems that meet contract standards
• Identifying low- or no-cost tools to streamline HR, accounting, and operations
• Learning from peers who have successfully scaled up their internal capacity

We Source NYC is a technical assistance and communications program that supports local small- and medium-sized manufacturers, construction service providers, industrial equipment suppliers, and other relevant companies to capture contract opportunities in the regional offshore wind and renewable energy supply chains.

We Source NYC is an NYCEDC program operated by the Southwest Brooklyn Industrial Development Corp. and BOC Network, community organizations that provide resources and technical assistance to support the growth of industrial and manufacturing businesses in NYC. Through this program, they will provide business development services, organize industry events, and broker partnerships and connections.
