Gbaoso (pronounced boh-soo) is a word of West African origin meaning “to run.” The collection embodies that spirit—whether you're sprinting down Summit Avenue or showing up with style at a weekend shakeout run. Expect modern silhouettes, confident lines, and layered textures designed for movement and statement-making.

From warm-up to cool-down, GBAOSO is made for runners who don’t just chase goals—they show up loud, proud, and in full stride.

Meet the Designer: Wealth Ndego

Wealth Ndego is a Nigerian-American multidisciplinary artist and rising designer currently interning with Run Minnesota. Her work blends West African heritage with streetwear and performance design, creating looks that bridge tradition, athleticism, and self-expression. GBAOSO is her first full capsule collection—exclusive to Run Minnesota—and reflects her vision for a sport where culture and fashion move just as powerfully as pace and time.

Is this really a free event?

Yes, the event is completely free! However, if you are able, a suggested donation made at the time of registration will help us to bring more of these innovative events to the Minnesota running scene. No pressure and any gifts made are very much appreciated.

Who is Wealth Ndego?

She is a Nigerian Fashion design student at the University of Minnesota. Wealth has interned with Run Minnesota this Summer to design this collection. She receives a portion of the proceeds from all sales of the Gbaoso collection.

Who is Run Minnesota?

We are the oldest and largest running organization in Minnesota and the 8th oldest in the entire US. Run Minnesota is a 501(c)(3) and it exists to serve runners and non-runners across Minnesota. We do that through races, training, events, and advocacy to foster a safe, inclusive running community.

Who are the models I can expect to see?

This first of its kind show will include volunteer models to celebrate and showcase our community. Run Minnesota celebrates runners and non-runners of all backgrounds. So, we've asked a few of our members, partners, and a few special guests to model at this fun event.
