Gathering at the Threshold of Light

Join us as we look beyond the veil in this combined cacao and channeling ceremony, held in honor of the Winter Solstice: the longest night of the year and a sacred threshold between darkness and returning light.

The Winter Solstice is a powerful time of death and rebirth, release and renewal. As the sun reaches its lowest point and begins its journey back toward light, we too are invited to let go of what no longer serves us and plant seeds for what we wish to call in. This liminal time, when the veil between worlds is thin, offers potent energy for deep reflection, spiritual connection, and transformation.

If you have been sensing an opening to higher realms and wisdom, and are looking for a container to learn how to hone and practice this skill, or if you have not yet explored connection in this way but are interested in trying, we invite you into this space with curiosity and love. We will hold an open channel and create a container to protect a vulnerable space, honoring both the darkness we release and the light we welcome in.

For those simply wishing to receive, Sami will also use their own ancestral channel to communicate messages from the unseen realms, speaking from the voices of ancestors and guides. The Solstice is a potent time to hear these messages clearly as we stand at the threshold of a new cycle.

With the help of the sacred medicine of cacao, we will tune into our strongest channel: the heart, and learn how to connect in circle, with community. The heart-opening properties of cacao align beautifully with the Solstice invitation to move inward, to honor the darkness, and to emerge renewed.

Cacao will be served in a traditional Mayan way, and participants will learn how its subtle effects have been used as an antidote to depression, anxiety, grief and more throughout the ages. The ceremony will bring you through traditional Mayan roots of dedication, intention setting, community connection, and release: practices that mirror the natural rhythm of the Solstice itself. Cacao is a plant medicine with subtle effects, often compared to the potency of caffeine. This is not a psychedelic experience.

This ceremony will follow the path of opening through the heart, to receiving through the heart, and honoring the sacred pause of the Solstice as we release the old year and welcome the new. Community members are encouraged to participate at whatever level feels inviting for them. It is not necessary to imbibe cacao, or participate in trying channeling practices to attend this ceremony. The ceremony space will be held in a trauma-informed way, to ensure best practices for community safety.

Sami Bass

Sami is an ancestral channel who has been training in the art of speaking to, and receiving transmissions from the unseen realms her entire life. A lineage gift, passed down from her father, her channeling has been used to heal medical ailments, start businesses, channel stories, connect loved ones for closure, and more. Sami has been invited to channel for Coralus Global (formerly She-E-O), Sacred Matriarch Indigenous Creative, ReGen Impact Media, Avalon Storytellers Retreat, and more. As a sacred medicine server, Sami has studied within her own tribal traditions, as well as tribes globally to understand and revere indigenous traditions. Sami lived in rural Guatemala to study the mayan traditions of cacao serving, and now serves as a certified trauma-informed and somatic facilitator of aya with shipibo-conibo elders in the amazon. Rachael Babette

Rachael is a trauma-informed facilitator, energy worker, and holder of sacred spaces. Rachael now lives in Costa Rica where she facilitates psilocybin retreats, microdose programs, and supports ayahuasca ceremonies alongside Shipibo maestras. A 200-hour trauma-informed yoga teacher trained in both classical Himalayan Kundalini and traditional yoga, Rachael weaves somatic practices into her work. She has also trained as a temple guide with the 13 Moon Mystery School and continues her path as a priestess with The Path of Gold. With reverence for each person's potential, Rachael creates containers where growth happens through ancient medicine, deep listening, and the power of being witnessed.
