Garment Skills Workshops (Nov/Dec 2025)
Overview
In visions of our lives now and in the future, we hope for and create the room to be ourselves with one another, however we choose to. The capacity to clothe ourselves and our communities, offers us a new form of care and self-determination.
Join us in the PLACE Makery for a set of adult sewing skill workshops. Basic sewing (threading the machine, basic straight stitching) required. In each of these 1.5 hour workshops, students will learn either how to install a zipper, or use a serger! Please select your time according to which skill you're aiming to learn, or even better, sign up for both! Sewing machines and materials are provided.
This course will use all donated and recycled materials, offering us the opportunity to create new life from what we already have. With the intention of gentle and attentive instruction, all classes are capped at 8 students.
All participants are asked to mask the entirety of the class. We consider COVID safety our priority, and require all students to wear high filtration masks through the entirety of the class. Masks are provided, if you don't have them! We run an air purifier as well.
