In this workshop we will explore:

· How you can access low-cost or free ways to do mini-retreats locally to support your creativity.
· The different kinds of fellowships, grants and residencies currently available in different parts of the world.
During the presentation, Dr. Christina will talk about the differences between fellowships, grants and residencies, and unpack the fundaments about applying. She’ll also talk about hidden costs, DIY creative retreats, and about current opportunities around the world.
Dr. Christina Gessler is the founder and host of the Academic Life Podcast, and holds a BA in world history, and a PhD in American history. She has two decades of experience helping people with their writing projects, and successfully taught this workshop for other organizations and has privately coached clients during their own grant writing and fellowship application efforts. She is also a member of SCBWI, AWP, the Authors Guild, and other professional organizations.
