•Location

Welcome to DO-JUNG-ISHU – Art of Fighting! Wednesday @5:45pm, Saturday @1:30pm. This is the Wednesday listing. Some classes are inside the Whetstone Recreation Center located at 3923 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214, but if class must be held outside, it will be in the field directly beside the building between the playground and horseshoe area. Look for the Black and Red Yin-Yang shirts! We are full-contact so please bring a mouthpiece and workout clothes.

•Curriculum

Class curriculum changes depending on present attendees for that day since we aim for an individualized approach to teaching our students, but everyone can expect to learn fundamental techniques and their underlying concepts for striking, defense, & grappling while standing, grounded, and the transitions between as we drill and spar week-by-week. Be it for Street defense, Sports fighting, or Fitness, everyone can benefit from attending our classes; no experience necessary, all skill levels of any discipline welcome! We learn from you, too!

• Full-Contact

As stated before, we are a Full-Contact school, meaning you will hit others and you will get hit. All participants are instructed to adjust their intensity according to what their training partners ask for / what instructors feel is appropriate. You will build physical, mental, and cardiological resilience as your training progresses; if you are consistent. This is nature’s reward to you.

•Fees

Currentl we survive off donations so we only ask for what you can give, even if that is just your energy and presence. We will soon have to charge fees as we work to sustain and improve our equipment and services, but one of our principles have always been accessibility to the public, regardless of finances, so everyone may cultivate the health and fighting spirit of themselves and others in the community. If this is a concern, or if you have any other questions/comments, please reach out to our lead instructor James Cole via text at (614) 357-0295.

We look forward to sharing and nurturing our passion for the Art of Fighting with you.
