About this event

Travel & Outdoor • Canoeing

This is a guided canoe tour down an 8.5 miles stretch of beautiful Florida wilderness. We will be paddling both Rock Springs Run and the Wekiwa River. The first part of the tour will be paddling out and back on the Rock Springs Run, a beautiful crystal clear spring-fed river. Then we will float down the Wekiwa River, a spring fed river with dark water and an abundance of alligators. The Wekiwa River is one of the only Wild & Scenic designated rivers in the Southeastern U.S. These designation means that these rivers are free-flowing and have outstanding ecological and recreational value. We will take out at Wekiwa Island, which has food and refreshments, and then you will be shuttled back to your car at King's Landing. No experience necessary for the paddling, but you should be comfortable on the water since the trip takes about 5-6 hours, and fit and flexible enough to sit comfortably in a canoe for an extended period of time. You should also be comfortable seeing alligators since there is an abundance on this river.
