Fueling Recovery: Nutrition Basics for Healing
Overview
Fueling Recovery: Nutrition Basics for Healing
Hybrid | In-Person at RANMI & Virtual via Zoom
Recovery is not just about stopping substance use — it’s about healing the whole person. Nutrition and physical wellness play an important role in early recovery, yet many people experience changes in appetite, energy, mood, and their relationship with food as their body and mind begin to heal.
This hybrid educational workshop allows participants to attend in person at the RANMI Recovery Center or virtually via Zoom. The session offers a supportive introduction to how nutrition can strengthen recovery and promote balance. Participants will explore the connection between food, mood, energy, and overall wellness, while normalizing common challenges related to eating, body image, and self-care during recovery.
Facilitated by a licensed dietitian and certified peer recovery coach, this 60-minute session includes education, discussion, and optional Q&A, with handouts and resources provided to all participants. Attendees will leave with simple, realistic strategies to support physical wellness, increased awareness of when additional support may be helpful, and encouragement to view nourishment as part of long-term healing. This workshop is educational in nature and is not a clinical treatment or therapy session.
