About this event

  • Event lasts 2 hours

Join us for a guided blending session using aromatic materials associated with fruits, berries, and musks.

For the first portion of this smelling and blending session, we will learn about some smells used to recreate the scents of fruits, berries, and musks. Scent strips will be handed out by your friendly Institute for Art and Olfaction team, and we will spend time smelling and discussing our impressions of these materials.

We will start the second portion of the session by briefly discussing blending scent. Using the palette of perfume materials selected for the sessio, we will spend the rest of the session blending and creating our own short formulas. Each attendee goes home with a small trial of their aromatic blend.

Take-Aways:

Participants will leave with a sense of the basics of perfume blending and a small first trial perfume blend.

ATTENDANCE AND CANCELLATION POLICY FOR IN PERSON CLASSES

Registration Required:

Please note that you must reserve your space in advance. If you just show up without reserving a spot, there is no guarantee we will be able to accommodate you. Space at this event is limited.

All levels are welcome, but this session is 18 and up (or 14+, with adult supervision).

When we host a class or workshop, we often order the materials to be used in the class well in advance, based on how many people have signed up (and padding a bit for safety). We also use class proceeds to pay our teachers. Although we realize that life has a funny way of getting in the way of the best laid plans, as a small non-profit we cannot afford to carry the burden of lost proceeds and materials. With all that said, here’s our refund policy for in person classes!

– Cancellation with refund or credit requests made 1 week or more (7 days) before the scheduled session will be honored with gusto! We’ll miss you, but will 100% refund your spot.

– Refunds or class credits requested less than 7 days before the scheduled session: We will refund you 50% of your class fee. Why? Because we’ve already ordered the materials.

– Refunds or class credits requested less than 48 hours before the class, on the day of the class or after the class has happened will not be granted.

– Cancellations or refund requests must be made by email (hello@artandolfaction).

Note also that event tickets are non-transferable.
