About this event

Join Fruitslice: A Queer Quarterly, as we launch our seventh issue on Home—a night of readings, Pride, and connection.

Hear from featured writers, "build a home" with other attendees, and celebrate the ways we gather, create, and exist. We’re hosting our first virtual launch party! We are so excited to open our launch to the global volunteers, authors, and readers that make Fruitslice feel like Home.

Frequently asked questions

What platform will this online event use?

Fruitslice will host the launch party via Zoom. (Camera "on" encouraged but never required.)

What technology is required for this event?

Gmail Account. Laptop/Desktop. We highly recommend that you join from a desktop/laptop if possible. The "build a home" activity is best experienced this way. For the collaborative activity, we will be using google slides and a gmail account is needed to access the link and participate fully.

Will there be virtual audience participation at this event?

Yes! The chat will be open for comments throughout the event. During the "build a home" activity, audience members will be taken into smaller breakout rooms to collaborate. Participation is greatly encouraged, but your level of participation is up to you! Use your camera, just your mic, or the chat.

Why did Fruitslice move to a virtual launch?

The move to a virtual launch better supports Fruitslice’s long-term sustainability and makes space for our global community. This shift allows more volunteers, authors, and readers to join the celebration—no matter where they are.
