Frozen Ascents: Introduction to Ice Climbing

Event Details: As winter turns water into ice, take on a new adventure and learn how to climb icy waterfalls during UpaDowna's Frozen Ascents: Introduction to Ice Climbing class in partnership with Front Range Climbing!
This 3-hour class is for beginners. No experience ice climbing or rock climbing are required, though those with prior climbing and belaying experience can be helpful. Participants will learn how to provide a safe top rope belay, use ice climbing equipment, basic techniques, and climbing etiquette.
Minimum age requirements: 12+ years of age
Date/Time: Sunday, February 22 from 1-4pm
Cost:
- Adults (>18 years of age): $100
- Youth (12-18 years old): $75

Meeting Point: 2182 County Road 96, Lake George, CO 80827. This event takes places at the South Platte Ice Wall. The South Platte Ice Wall is Front Range Climbing Companies private ice climbing park and consists of varying diifficulty levels on their farm-raised waterfall. Please note that cell service is limited on-site.
What to Bring: Dress for the weather. Wear a base layer, pants, jacket, hat and gloves. Boots, crampons, and ice tools will be provided. Bring a snack and water as there are no facilities nearby.
