SEEN | SCENE | CENE is a group juried exhibition of artwork by trans women, cis women, intersex, genderqueer, genderfluid, and non-binary people within 39 miles of Amherst, on view in The Front Window Gallery of The Mill District Local Art Gallery. Exhibit runs Sunday, May 4 through Thursday, June 26, 2025.

Curated by Christine Texiera and Alexia Cota, this exhibition is in the spirit of the Thrive Together Network's encouragement for women to show all in the same month - Taking. Up. Space initiative.
Artists were invited to create new work or select work that responds to the exhibition title, SEEN | SCENE I CENE. Contemplating representation, being SEEN, acts needed to be seen, both by us as artists and as citizens, what's needed in the world. The SCENE both physically and environmentally. And CENE, a suffix that denotes how changes, when continued, can be seen as a whole era.

The Mill District Local Art Gallery is donating space and sales commission to support this cause.
About The Mill District General Store & Local Art Gallery:The Mill District Local Art Gallery features Massachusetts artists from within an hour drive of the gallery. We accept all forms of artwork, including, but not limited to painting, drawing, ceramics & pottery, fiber arts, photography, wood & metal work, digital work, jewelry, printmaking, and sculpture.
