From Seed to Success

Over seven years ago, Heaven White convinced HACA to allow her to plant a community garden in Eastport Terrace. What started as a small plot has flourished into a thriving garden that now produces hundreds of pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables each season, shared freely with the community.

Along the way, Heaven has become both gardener and teacher, showing residents of all ages how to grow their own food. Neighbors join her in planting, pruning, weeding, and harvesting, making the garden not just a source of nourishment, but a place of learning, connection, and pride.

This year, we invite you to celebrate the harvest with us at a beautiful farm-to-table dinner. Together, we’ll honor the work of the community and enjoy the fruits of its labor.

Proceeds from the evening will directly support the Eastport Terrace Community Garden, funding seeds, tools, soil, and everything needed to keep this vital project growing strong.
