Description

A materials science mini-workshop will be held at La Trobe University on January 12 on the special occasion of the visit of Prof. Sir John Ball to Australia. Confirmed speakers are:

  • Brian Abbey (La Trobe);

  • John Ball (Oxford);

  • Yann Bernard (Monash);

  • Julie Clutterbuck (Monash);

  • Guy Metcalfe (Monash);

  • John Sader (University of Melbourne).

There will be a series of talks from invited speakers on topics related to theoretical, simulational, and experimental aspects of materials science.

Registration is free but necessary for catering purposes. Early registration would be much appreciated, as this will be a big help in helping us decide on various details.

When registering, please indicate if you wish to join the speakers and other participants for dinner on the evening of January 12 at: Phon Pi Sai Thai Restaurant, 269 Spring Street, Northcote 3073.

(Payment will be made on an individual basis at the restaurant. More details later, including transport options. Please, email p.cesana@latrobe.edu.au if you have special dietary requirements).

A detailed program will be prepared soon. The start time will be 9:30am, finish at about 5pm, and conference dinner at 6:30pm.
