From Mic to Movement: Co-Creating Music and Film for Change

By The Office of Social Equity & Community at Penn

Overview

Join musician and changemaker Nimo Patel and award-winning community filmmaker Ellie Walton for a unique evening at the intersection of art

Join musician and changemaker Nimo Patel and award-winning community filmmaker Ellie Walton for a unique evening at the intersection of art, activism, and collective creation. Through stories, songs, and inspiring footage, Nimo and Ellie will reflect on how music and film have become their tools for justice — amplifying voices and movements across the globe, from climate action to women's empowerment to non-violence.

Then, the stage opens to all. Together, the room will shape a song — from idea to recording — and co-create a music video that captures the spirit of a shared cause. No prior experience needed. Just bring your heart, your voice, and your vision. Come ready to listen, create, and be moved.
