From Image to Essence: A Dance with Earth's Elements
Overview
As we explore the landscapes of Earth through the photographs of Yann Arthus-Bertrand, we enter a dialogue between the outer world and our Inner Landscape. Each image becomes an invitation to listen, to sense, and to let its presence settle into the body.
We begin by meeting the photograph with our first impressions, what it stirs and what it whispers. From there, we allow the image to shape us, to inhabit us, to move through us. At times we become the photograph; at times we step inside it. Little by little, the boundary between image and body softens.
In this unfolding, the landscape transforms into the inner landscape it awakens in you.
✨ Its form becomes feeling.
✨ Its feeling becomes concept.
✨ Its concept dissolves into essence.
And essence finds its way into dance.
We close by honoring what emerged, the sensations, the forms, and the quiet message that took root when you danced the image.
This workshop is rooted in Danza de la Vida®, a dance therapy method created by Loreto San Juan that invites you to connect with the four levels of your being — physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual — through the four elements: earth, water, air, and fire. As we move with each element and its unique qualities, we cultivate self-healing, balance, body awareness, and a deeper connection to the inner dance we all carry.
**Please bring a journal, something to write with, a yoga mat, and comfortable clothing for this workshop.

✨ Led by Christie Alonso
Hi, I’m Christie! Originally from Miami with Cuban roots and raised in North Alabama, I’m a yogi, a dancer, and an early childhood educator with over 10 years of experience. I recently lived in Chile, where I trained with Loreto San Juan in Danza de la Vida®, and I’m now settling into beautiful East Tennessee.
Throughout my teaching journey, my body has longed for space to move, and my heart for space to expand. When life calls you back to your light, your love, and most importantly your heart—you begin to rediscover your peace and your power. Each element of the earth offers us something, and with each movement and expansion comes the gift of space to explore, create, and perhaps, to heal.
