Overview

An informational webinar on how to sell farm direct, producer-processed, value-added products in Oregon.

From Harvest to Market: How to Process & Sell Value-Added Product

Join us on November 19th for an informative webinar exploring how Oregon's Farm Direct Marketing Law (OFDML) empowers small farmers to grow their business through value-added production. Reviewing the Oregon Department of Agriculture's guidance, this session offers a grounded, practical look at how to transform your own farm-grown produce into items like jams, pickles, and lacto-fermented goods-- all without the need for a processing license.

At the end of this workshop, an engaged participant will be able to:

  • Identify which types of value-added products qualify under OFDML.
  • Understand the food safety and labeling requirements necessary for compliance.
  • Recognize appropriate record-keeping methods to support your farm's operations.
  • Evaluate whether producing value-added products is a viable fit for your business model.

Whether you're refining your farm's economic model or exploring new ways to deepen your connection to feeding your community, this session is an excellent opportunity for farmers to gain clarity on state regulations and confidently explore new income streams through on-farm food processing.

Come ready to learn, ask questions, and discover how to make the most of Oregon's supportive direct marketing landscape.
