From Curiosity To Confidence With AI (02-26-26) VIRTUAL
Overview
This hands-on lab is designed for behavioral health professionals who are curious about AI but unsure where to start. Together, we will walk through real-world scenarios, build a simple custom AI assistant, and practice safe, practical workflows you can use in your day-to-day work without risking client trust. You bring one real task from your role, and you will leave with a clearer path, stronger guardrails, and tools you can use the very next week.
This program will address how artificial intelligence is beginning to shape documentation, communication, client education, supervision, and program operations in behavioral health settings. The content will help attendees by translating this emerging technology into concrete, discipline-relevant skills, including identifying appropriate use cases, writing safe and bounded prompts, and designing simple, custom AI assistants that respect confidentiality and professional boundaries. Topics discussed will include data privacy, informed consent, equity, and the ethical use of AI-assisted tools.
Through case examples, a practical decision checklist, and guided action planning, participants learn how to evaluate AI uses in relation to their codes of ethics and legal requirements, and how to talk with supervisors and leaders about policy and implementation.

The Ohio Board of Nursing will accept a continuing education activity that has been approved by a board or an agency that regulates a health care profession or related discipline in Ohio including the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage and Family Therapist Board. Information regarding continuing education requirements is available on the OBN website here.
Other licensing boards may also accept these hours, however it is the attendee’s responsibility to establish this prior to attending.
In order to ethically provide CEUs, we use a platform that generates attendance time reports. We must have a total time in attendance for each participant in order to issue CEUs and the CEUs issued are based on the total amount of time accumulated between the time an attendee joins and the time the attendee logs off. We are ethically bound to report the accumulated amount of time a participant attended, therefore we cannot issue CEUs to those:
· sharing a monitor, computer, and/or login
· failing to ensure their name label includes their first and last name
· joining by phone
· missing more than 10 minutes of a training that is 60 minutes in length
CEUs will be adjusted to the nearest quarter hour to reflect the amount of time present for sessions over 60 minutes in length.
By registering and attending this session, you acknowledge and agree that your photo may be taken and used by Montgomery County ADAMHS. If you do not agree to have your photo used, you must contact the organizer prior to the class.
