Mini Documentary Virtual Premiere + Fireside Chat

Join the Benjamin Goldberg Foundation for the virtual premiere of our new mini documentary sharing the story behind our mission and our work in social prescribing.

This short film follows our founder, Wendy Goldberg, as she reflects on her son Ben’s legacy and the inspiration behind the Foundation. It also takes you behind the scenes of our Social Prescribing Pilot Program, one of the first of its kind in the United States, connecting healthcare providers and patients to arts-based interventions that enhance healing, resilience, and overall well-being.

Following the screening, stay for a virtual fireside chat with Wendy, our Medical Advisor Dr. Sheetal Ajmani, and the film’s creator, Stephen Miles, as they discuss the making of the documentary, the power of the healing arts, and the future of social prescribing in healthcare.

About the Film

Through the eyes of founder Wendy Goldberg, this short documentary traces a deeply personal journey of loss, love, and purpose. When Ben was just five years old, he was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma, a rare pediatric cancer. During his treatments, music became Ben’s refuge, a source of calm, expression, and healing. In the years following his passing, Wendy has transformed that experience into a movement that now bridges healthcare and the arts. The film follows her path from personal grief to groundbreaking innovation, revealing how the Benjamin Goldberg Foundation is carrying forward Ben’s legacy by integrating healing arts, like music, movement, and creative connection, into the patient experience.

About the Pilot Program

The Healing Arts Social Prescribing Pilot Program in partnership with Sentara is among the first in the nation to establish a referral pathway connecting healthcare providers and patients with creative, arts-based interventions. In partnership with a local museum, a music therapy practice, and Sentara Health, Virginia’s largest integrated healthcare system, this groundbreaking initiative will be the first U.S. study to collect objective data on the mental health and healthcare utilization outcomes of a healing arts social prescribing pathway for breast cancer and head and neck cancer patients.
