Looking for dedicated writing time with a spark of inspiration? The Fringe Writing Salon offers a welcoming space for writers to focus, connect, and create—whether you're starting something new or developing an existing project.
Inspired by the legendary literary salons of the 1920s, this relaxed yet structured environment allows ideas to flourish. Hosted by Fife-based writer Lisa May Young, the sessions offer encouragement, accountability, and room to explore your writing at any stage.
Over four weekly sessions, we’ll follow the arc of a creative project:
- Week 1 (7th August): Ideas and Beginnings – Finding inspiration and shaping strong openings.
- Week 2 (14th August): The Middle – Building momentum and navigating the core of your project.
- Week 3 (21st August): Endings & Final Draft – Bringing your piece to a satisfying close and polishing it for sharing.
- Week 4 (28th August): Sharing and Celebration – An optional opportunity to present your completed work in a supportive setting.
Each session includes focused writing time, optional prompts, and the chance to share and discuss your progress. Whether you're writing fiction, poetry, memoir, or something in between, the Fringe Writing Salon offers a space to develop your voice within a creative community.
Who is it for?
- Writers at any level, from beginners to published authors
- Anyone working on a writing project or exploring new ideas
- Creatives who enjoy discussion, feedback, and inspiration
- Those looking for structure and a sense of creative momentum
Come for the writing time, stay for the stories.
