Is this an in person event?

Yes!  We do hope to have virtual events in the future, but we want to meet you and talk with you in person and for you to get to know us.

Is there parking available?

Yes, there is free parking available around The Village at Hamilton Pointe.  The meeting will be held at the southern entrance of the campus (the entrance facing the Lloyd Expressway), door 7.

Question 3

Will there be food available?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a light meal will be served.  For this reason, we would prefer an RSVP so we can have an accurate head count to have enough food.  But if you find out about this event last minute, please still come!

Can I bring a caregiver or spouse?

Yes!  The more the merrier!  This event is open to those dealing with limb loss as well as your caregiver or spouse or other support people.  We will have resources for all!

Will there be more events?

Yes!  We do plan to hold additional events.  We are looking for feedback on what interests you and what other events you would like to attend or information provided at these meetings.  We also would like to know your preferred time or day of the week.

Is this place wheelchair accessible?

Yes!  All ages and abilities are welcome.  We can accommodate just about any mobility issue.

Is transportation provided?

Unfortunately, no.  At this time, we are unable to transport you to this event.  However, you can reach out to us for options for transportation if you are still wanting to attend.

Do I have to be an amputee to attend?

No!  We welcome those who are possibly facing an amputation, those with a recent amputation, people who are new users of prosthetics, or those who have used a prosthetic for years.  We also welcome those who love, support, and care for people who have undergone an amputation.

What can I expect at this event?

It is a time to connect with a wider community of people who have experienced an amputation, may be facing an amputation, their caregivers or support network.  It is also an opportunity to meet with a wide array of passionate providers who can provide resources to all those interested.

Is this event free to attend?

Yes!  This event is free for everyone to attend.  No tickets needed.

Do I have to be a patient or resident at The Village at Hamilton Pointe to attend?

No, everyone who can make it is welcome.  You do not have to have a connection with The Village at Hamilton Pointe to come.

Do I have to be a patient of Hanger Clinic to attend?

Accepted Answer

No!  The resources available and the support provided is for all amputees and their caregivers regardless of who your providers are or have been.  This is an opportunity for you to meet others, share experiences, and fine out more information about resources in the area.
