EVENT SCHEDULE*

The schedule includes:

7:00 am CIT office  – Registration, morning refreshments, and bus assignments

8:00 am – Welcome Message

8:15 am-11:30 am – Buses depart and rotate between three demo field sites

Sustainable Groundwater Management Act (SGMA)
SGMA is on everyone's mind in California. CIT's Sarge Green has been working in the water resource management world for over 50 years and will share some of the latest issues about SGMA and how it may affect you.
You will also hear about monitoring and telemetry technology from HotSpot AG. They will demonstrate technologies that will be useful for tracking your water, managing it more effectively, and maximizing its value.
Pivots
Pivots have not been popular in California for many years, but that may be changing. SGMA's water requirements will make annual crops more attractive, and pivots are a well-established technology for automated irrigation of field crops. Fresno State has invested in two new pivots with "corner arms" that make a round field (almost) square, and they will be on display during the event.
Dr. Tobias Oker (Kern UCCE Farm Advisor) will discuss the essential features of pivots and how to maximize their benefits. You will also hear from Valley Irrigation about new pivot technologies and how to maximize their benefits.
Drone Spraying
Sometimes you only need to spray a portion of your field, and conventional spray rigs can make that difficult. Drone sprayers offer a different approach to precision spraying. You will see a live demonstration of drone spraying in the field, provided by NC Ag Spraying. You will also see the drone system that Fresno State will be using on its own farm.

11:30 am WET Center – Trade show, networking, lunch

2:00 pm – Conclusion
