Freestyle & Flow: Costumes & Connection is a hands-on celebration of cultural heritage, spirit, and adornment, presented by Second Nature Elements x Exotic Linx to fundraise for SNE Cares programming.
The second installment of Freestyle & Flow invites community members of all ages to design handmade costume elements and memorial-inspired adornments while learning about the spiritual significance behind the traditions that inspire them.
In many cultures, October is a sacred month for remembrance, from African and Caribbean traditions, Día de los Muertos, to Indigenous spiritual practices. This gathering invites you to honor those who came before, explore ancestral traditions, and create with deep intention.
💫 What You'll Create:
Creative Stations:
• Costume Crafting: Build masks, capes, crowns, and more inspired by your heritage or spirit guides.
• Ancestor Altar Adornments: Craft candles, charms, paper flowers, and offerings for loved ones.
• Spiritual Symbols & Storytelling: Discover sacred symbols from Afro-Indigenous and Latin American folklore.
• Intention Setting & Ancestral Notes: Write letters to your ancestors and place them on our community altar.
