Workshop 8 - From Idea to Event - Event management skills for creative freelancers [online workshop]
Great events don't just happen. This workshop gives you the inside track on turning creative ideas into smooth, professional events. From nailing down your objectives and audience, to knowing what makes an innovative event experience, to handling the moving parts behind the scenes, you'll learn how to produce events that make an impact. Along the way, we'll swap stories, crowdsource a go-to venues list and connect with other freelancers who can support your future projects.
Through practical planning exercises and collaborative problem-solving, we'll work through real event scenarios and build your confidence in managing the details that make events successful. Expect hands-on documents that will help you plan your to-do list and timeline, think about the roles you need 'on the day' and plan your budget.
Some of the questions and topics we'll consider:
- Planning and project management: from concept to clean-up and thinking about risk management
- Creating a memorable event experiences that reflect your creative vision
- Building realistic budgets and timelines
- Marketing and promoting events that attract your ideal audience
