Freelancer Skills Series
Culture Sheffield and Fair Collective bring you a ten part training series which gives freelancers the chance to build new skills, grow their networks, and explore opportunities for income, collaboration and visibility within the city’s vibrant cultural and visitor economy.
Each session will be focused on a different topic relating to your creative freelance practice, based on the feedback and suggestions from Sheffields freelance community.
Workshop 7 - Building Sustainable Creative Careers: Wellbeing for Freelancers in Arts & Culture [Online]
How do you build a creative practice that nourishes you personally, professionally and financially?
In this workshop, we'll explore resilience and wellbeing for freelancers, founders, entrepreneurs, and anyone wanting to make their own mark. Through reflective exercises, peer coaching and practical planning we'll explore how to be and work authentically while building a sustainable creative practice.
Whether you're juggling multiple projects, managing irregular income, balancing creative work with day jobs or reassessing how you want to work - this session is for you.
Together we'll explore:
- Staying connected to your purpose as a creative
- Nourishing mindsets and behaviours that support balance and wellness
- Understanding your own wellbeing needs as a freelancer
- Managing energy, boundaries and emotional load
- Building sustainable work habits and routines that prevent burnout
- Making decisions about clients, projects and pricing that align with what you need
- Integrating your creative practice with your life in a way that works for you
You'll leave with practical tools, strategies and connections, plus renewed clarity about building a creative career that sustains you over the long haul.
This workshop will be led by Nathan M. Ardaiz, a holistic coach and facilitator and a Fair Collective Associate. Nathan has supported hundreds of UK-based entrepreneurs, freelancers and changemakers to lead with purpose while staying well, often those moving through transformation and uncertainty.
