Sophia Knapp is a clairvoyant channel, teacher, and artist who helps others connect with their intuition, clarity, and creative spark. Her sessions blend natural second sight with modalities such as Tarot, Reiki, and Western astrology to offer guidance that’s direct and deeply personal. Sophia has worked with thousands of clients worldwide, both in private practice and through activations with companies such as Netflix, Meta, Pinterest, Hulu, Bustle, Converse, and Dôen. She currently offers private sessions virtually and in person at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills. She also serves as the resident reader at Soho House West Hollywood and Little Beach House Malibu.
Though she has read for public figures such as Dua Lipa and Robert Downey Jr., Sophia doesn't identify as a "celebrity reader." She believes we are all inherently worthy and brings the same depth of care and presence to every client, whether they have millions of followers or none at all. With Mercury in Aries in the 8th house and a decade in New York shaping her perspective, Sophia brings a refreshingly down to earth approach to the spiritual path, offering insight that’s clear, compassionate, and honest.
Sophia’s expression is uniquely shaped by her heritage, education, and medical history. Her clairvoyance is part of a maternal lineage of strong-spirited, artistic women, tracing back to her Swedish ancestors who immigrated to the U.S. in the mid-1800s. During readings, she wears her great aunt Celia’s ring; Celia was a weaver who could remote view and describe the homes of relatives she had never visited. Sophia has experienced lifelong challenges with her vision, including a non-centered focal point in her left eye. This unusual relationship with perception and sensitivity continues to shape the way she tunes in beyond the material world. She holds a BFA with honors in Drawing from The Cooper Union, and her background in fine art informs her symbolic fluency.
As an accomplished musician, Sophia has toured the U.S., Europe, and Brazil as a solo artist under her given name and with her bands Lights and Cliffie Swan (Drag City Records). She has shared stages with artists like Bill Callahan, Juana Molina, Jim Jarmusch, Marissa Nadler, and Destroyer, performing at venues including Bowery Ballroom, the Barbican in London, and PS1 MoMA. She is currently completing a new full-length album.
She teaches the esoteric arts online and in person, with ongoing classes through The DEN Meditation and the Philosophical Research Society. Based in Topanga Canyon on unceded Tongva and Chumash land, she offers 1:1 sessions globally via Zoom. She is a Pisces Sun in the 7th house, Libra Moon in the 2nd, and Virgo rising. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, spending quality time with her family, decompressing at Little Beach House Malibu, and being incredibly silly with longtime friends. David Bowie is her all-time favorite artist.
Whether in session, in class, or on stage, Sophia’s aim is singular: to help others witness and celebrate their own wisdom, splendor, and truth.
“Teachers open the door. You enter by yourself.”
