WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
Stepping is a dance movement that involves clapping, stomping and hitting your body in a percussion style to make beats. The steps vary from slow rhythms to fast pace, creating an entertaining performance. In this workshop, we will warm up with working out and stretching of the body. After a warm up, some background and introduction, we will learn a routine and perform it together.
ABOUT THE ARTIST(S)
The Queen Crusaders is a step team from Monsignor Scanlan High School in the Bronx, NY. Our team began its humble beginnings back in 2016 under the direction of Ms. Moet Anglin.
The team is well known in the World of Step. The girls have competed in many different competitions over the past five years. This team is special, they have a love and respect for the art of stepping! They enjoy what they do and bring that energy to every competition!
On March 5th, 2021, The Queen Crusaders became a sorority that also goes by Mu Sigma Sada. A sisterhood that shows respect, beauty and brains. Most importantly, they are Queens.
ABOUT HARLEM DANCE CLUB'S GUEST WORKSHOPS
Harlem Dance Club is proud to bring the highest quality teaching artists to people of all ages and abilities for FREE. This month we are spotlighiting some of the groups who have performed in our MOTHERSHIP Dance & Music Festival. Guest Artist Workshops are an opportunity to experience a new or familiar culture, Q&A with the guest artist and be part of the Harlem Dance Club community. Made possible with our partnership with the Manhattan Department of Parks & Recreation.
