About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour

Meet Kiley Chambers:

  • Nanny
  • Childhood Educator
  • Guest speaker, International Nanny Training Day, 2025
  • Specializes in PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance)

With a heart for neurodivergent kids and families, Kiley is a respected educator and nanny within the childcare community. With a background in teaching and a deep respect for child-led learning, she is passionate about supporting kids in ways that honor their nervous systems, communication styles, and needs.

Her experience in working with children with PDA enhances what she brings to the table. Kiley understands that PDA is often considered a profile of autism, but she recognizes it as a standalone nervous system disability that can also coincide with other conditions. Everyday requests such as, getting dressed, answering a question, or transitioning between activities can feel threatening and overwhelming in their brains. This isn't the same as a child "not wanting" to do something. It is rooted in a need to preserve safety, autonomy, and control. Our job isn't to push harder - it's to connect, adapt, and listen.

Here's a sneak peek at some question that Kiley will cover:

  1. What is PDA and how is it different from just being stubborn or oppositional?
  2. How is it different than just being stubborn?
  3. What approaches or techniques actually help support someone with PDA?
