Mending Crew Third Space on the 4th Sunday of every month from 4-7 PM at the San Jose Peace and Justice Center (48 S 7th St in downtown San Jose)! Masks are required and provided by Mask Bloc San Jose. The center is wheelchair accessible from the back entrance.
The primary purpose of this monthly event is to mend and upcycle clothes that come to the swap with rips/holes, stains, and other wear and tear - we want to repair and enhance these clothes so they can be worn and enjoyed and make sure that the fabric doesn’t go to waste!
This is a drop in skill share - all skills and beginners welcome! There will be volunteers available to help you learn hand sewing and other mending, upcycling, and clothes care and repair skills. All supplies will be provided (including needles and thread, clothes and fabric, seam rippers, scissors and cutting boards, embroidery supplies, and more!)
You can also bring your own clothes to mend and other creative projects to work on during this time! You can also bring a zine to swap. It’s a very chill hangout space and lovely to work with clothes and fabrics with the swap community.
