Once again Totnes community is coming together and preparing for the Lantern Festival Parade at our last late night shopping and Christmas street market on Tuesday 16th December 2025. We want to bring the whole world to Totnes that night, if you can imagine it then we are sure it can be made into a lantern!
The Totnes Lantern Festival group in partnership with the TRAYE Project (Totnes Rural Area Youth Engagement) are coordinating lantern making workshops in St Johns's School Totnes. There are also sessions arranged with local schools, Totnes Scouts & Cubs.We are offering venues for the community to come together at one of our Sunday afternoon Lantern making sessions, where you will find all the materials and guidance needed to build your own lanterns, making something really special. The sessions are free of charge for all. We welcome all ages but children must be accompanied. There are free sessions at the Civic Hall on Sundays 26th October & 23rd November and a session on Sunday 9th November at St Johns School. You are welcome to all but it would be helpful if you book your free tickets in advance for each venue and date you want to come to.These workshops are funded by kind donations and a grant from the Totnes Town Council. We look forward to seeing you create!
