The Event: Welcome to the Lancaster Improv Players' Theater! We will be hosting a free sample improv class! Starting a new improv class is always super fun and exciting, but we know it can be intimidating to sign up for a whole class without knowing if it is your thing. Now is your chance to try it on before signing up! This will be similar to one of the week's of our Improv 101 Class. The session is fun focused while also introducing you to a few of the starter skills.
This class runs for two hours from 1pm until 3pm. Check-in starts at 12:45pm. Sign up is required to attend and there are only 16 spots! Be prepared to move around, so please dress accordingly and bring hydration!
About the Teacher: Mike Andrews has been a proud performer with the Lancaster Improv Players since 2019. In addition to being a coach and member of current LIP house teams, Mike is also a member of the Lancaster Touring Company. Mike has completed the SAK Comedy Lab class curriculum at the Orlando, FL theatre where Wayne Brady got his start and has taken classes with Comedy Sportz in Philadelphia. As a founding member of multiple independent improv teams, Mike enjoys sharing the joy of improv comedy with new audiences and students of the craft.
Parking: There is street parking around the theater on Prince St, King St, and Vine St, which is not metered after 6pm and not metered Sundays! The parking garages are open. Steinman Garage, Prince St Garage, and Duke St Garage are recommended in that order! On the weekends the garage is $5 for the whole day!
Future Offerings: We have two Improv 101 Classes starting in July! Tuesdays with Mike starting 7/8 at 7pm and Thursdays with Scott starting 7/10 at 7pm! These are eight week and run for two hours each session. You can find out more on their Eventbrite listings!
