Banned Books Week📣

Our banned books week activities continue on Tuesday, 10/7 with a watch party of Storytelling for Advocacy at Vintage Max bookstore, presented by United Against Book Bans and Everyday Advocacy! Join us as we take action to fight book bans!

About Storytelling for Advocacy: "This workshop focuses on ways we can use storytelling to proactively advocate for the use of diverse books in schools and libraries, centering on the alliances we can create with both colleague teachers and community members. Drawing upon the work of the Everyday Advocacy movement, participants will learn how storytelling can be used to change the public narrative. Adapted from the work of Marshall Ganz, participants will learn ways to use the story of self, us, and now to shift the public narrative surrounding diverse books and their inclusion in schools and library."

Vintage Max will have light refreshments from Haven Cafe + 10% off our selection of banned books! While you're here at the store, leave a note on our community board to tell us why you read banned books!

Book bans are loud, but our voices are louder! RSVP today!
