Free Art Classes- For Seniors with Memory Loss
Join us for a special art class for seniors experiencing memory loss and their caregivers. In this FREE class, offered by the Hallberg Center for the Arts in partnership with the Chisago County Senior Center, participants will create art side by side. Thanks to a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, both will have the opportunity to make their own artwork, build creativity, and strengthen their bond while creating lasting memories.
Join us in October for a fun and simple exploration of scratch art! Using a template, we’ll trace animals, or you can choose to create your own freehand drawing. As you scratch the surface of your paper, a vibrant rainbow of colors will emerge, bringing your design to life!
The class is scheduled for two hours, but participants can leave whenever they feel finished. Instruction is designed to be easy to follow steps, with suggestions about how participants can use the materials. We have multiple instructors who will walk around to assist pairs when needed and offer encouragement.

Do both the person experiencing memory loss AND the caregiver get to make their own art?Yes! we designed this class to be for both participants to make their own artwork. We want to encourage relationship building and help resist caregiver burn out. We hope that making both people a priority will help with this!What about Parking?
